BOWENWORK
Bowenwork balances and stimulates energy flows, resulting in a deep overall sense of relaxation.
Bowenwork (or the Bowen Technique) is a gentle therapy that balances the body and resets it to heal itself.
The work consists of gentle rolling movements performed on the connective tissues, using a light touch. Through the placement and combinations of the technique, the Bowen worker is able to discern where stress has built up, and utilize subtle movements to release these stress points.
There are frequent pauses between these manipulations to give the body time to benefit from each Bowen set. The restorative process begins once the body is relaxed. Healing occurs by affecting the bodies autonomic nervous system, thereby creating homeostasis at the cellular level.
Done through light clothing, Bowen is completely safe and appropriate for everyone from the highly trained athlete to newborns, pregnant women, elderly and the chronically ill.
Bowenwork is a "complementary" modality. That is, it enhances and complements other treatments (such as homeopathy) to aid in the healing process.
